ILStyling a green skirt and sheer long sleeved blouse for a dressy Thanksgiving look

How to dress up for Thanksgiving is a little tricky because dressing in traditional thanksgiving colors is not as easy as dressing for Christmas. I say go for a subtle fall color palette instead.

This sheer sleeve top was my last and final piece that I’m sharing from my Forever 21 haul.  This top will be the perfect holiday blouse in my opinion because it pairs well with high waisted skirts and pants that are everywhere right now. It’s elegant because of it’s sheer sleeves but classic because of it’s black color and fitted shape.  Go ahead and wear it with flared jeans and belt for a more casual outfit.  I chose to stay with the dressy vibe by pairing it with this pleated skirt.

How to Dress Up for Thanksgiving

In my opinion, dressing up for Thanksgiving lends itself to a more classic style. (Christmas holiday style is more fashion forward with its sequins, bright colors, and textures.) I kept this look classic by wearing this traditional pleated skirt with this fitted blouse.  The color of the skirt fits in with this season’s color palettes and the tan accessories give just the right amount of contrast.  The fishnets keep my legs warm but also connect the sheerness of the blouse with the green skirt.  All of these pieces blend seamlessly together.  The leopard pumps and rhinestone statement necklace were my final touches of style.

When dressing up for Thanksgiving, go for classic shapes but consider doing these shapes in unique combos of fall colors. Do a muted orange or tan with a burgundy color or mix yellow with a muted green.  Make sure to polish off your outfit with some statement necklace, pendant necklace, or statement earrings.  You can’t forget that final touch!
